The publishers of Thomas the Tank Engine had not published any new stories by Christopher since 1996, but he still wanted to write stories for children. Mike and Christopher thought the stories about Rachel & General would be popular with visitors to the Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway, and also attract people who hadn't yet visited it. |
